This is a sketch I did of Kagome from Inuyasha. It's my very first attempt at seriously sitting down and drawing by hand. It took me about 5-10 minutes to do the sketch. The coloring took a bit longer. This is meant to be nothing more than a pure sketch. In other words, it's not meant to be anything fancy. The coloring is just basic stuff. The drawing itself has lots and lots of things I would fix or change if I had more artistic talent, but I'm just learning, so please be kind in any comments you leave. Overtime, as I learn and improve, I'll probably come back and make all the changes I want to make, but for now, I'm having fun.
By the way, if you are curious as to just a few of the many things I would like to change, here are some:
1. Her nose is a little too lumpy and needs to be smoothed. 2. Her jaw line needs softening. 3. Her hair needs more definition. 4. Her hair seems 'big' to me, but I don't know if I really need or should change that. 5. Improve the ear definition (I added the definition via mouse; I forgot to draw it in by hand). 6. More interesting clothing. 7. Add a background.
There are more things, but you get the idea.
P.S. - For anyone who sees this image, should it be considered 'Traditional' or "Digital'? I hand-drew it, but I colored it on the computer.
I know I said this to you already but this really came out good!!! Hard to believe it only took a couple of minutes for you to do! Everything looks really natural, I like how the lines look. I would consider it digital since it's digital once you have the finished product. You should totally do more of these!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
